Shakti's Tantra News for April

Hello beloveds,

I am so very excited to have visiting with me breathwork master Dan Brulé (breathmastery.com). Students of mine who have done his work have rushed back from sessions to tell me about the astounding shifts that have occurred for them in the breathing. I highly recommend you get in a session with him; he is available for sessions the week of 11 - 15 April. Sessions are R900 and they last up to two hours. Dan really is a master at his art, and he is deeply immersed in the lightning path of awakening.

We are doing a number of delicious group events together - a 5 day retreat that starts today, and, for those of you who still want to taste Tantra and breath work melting together - a Cape Town based workshop on 16 and 17 April. Dan is doing a breath only workshop 8 - 10 April. Scroll down this page for full details or go read more on the webpage http://www.events.shakti.co.za/2011/02/breathwork-and-tantra-retreat-1-6-april.html

Skydancing Women's Retreat 29 April to 2 May

29 April - 2 May is the Wild Women Skydancing Retreat at n!au 'ma in the Little Karoo.  Skydancing is a deeply authentic expression of the wild woman in all of us. This teaching from woman to woman takes some doing in our current western mind set. Women have been brought up to believe that most or all of their sexual expression is wrong and must only be presented in an acceptable way according to the culture. Skydancing is a return to our authentic sexual power as women. Energetically, it is what happens when a woman's sexual energy starts to move up her body, though her heart and comes showering out the crown of her head. The whole body goes into an exquisite dance that happens in receptivity and relaxation.

My international schedule

I will be teaching abroad for three months from 12 May: Brighton, Bristol, London and Salisbury in May, Glagow early June and then off to California, Oregan and Hawaii until mid July, when I travel to Moscow and Kyrgykstan, where I will be teaching with Dan until 7 August. You can find the details of my unfolding schedule ay http://www.events.shakti.co.za/2011/03/international-teaching-programme-2011.html

Intimate Breath
Dan Brulé and Shakti Malan
Phakalane, Cape Town
16 and 17 April 2011 9am - 5pm each day Cost R2 100

The breath is the most intimate touch of existence. This first beloved caresses us from the inside, all the time, and yet we hardly notice its presence. Most of us have hardly begun to explore the power of the breath as a tool to deepen our intimacy with ourselves, with another and with existence as such. There is so much more capacity for aliveness in us, right here in our bodies - if we open up more deeply to the breath.

In this workshop, we will bring together the best of two mystery traditions - Tantra and Breathwork - to assist you in opening to the wonder that is right inside you.

On this workshop, you will discover how to
  • breathe more deeply into different dimensions of your body
  • open to the sensual, rhythmic flow of the breath
  • drop beyond the mind, into the mind blowing transformational power of the breath
  • share breathwork with a partner through tantric meditations
  • bring the power of the breath more strongly into your moving, dancing active life
Powerful physical, emotional and psychological healing happens spontaneously as a result of spiritual breathing. When we awaken to the energy within us, we merge with the energy around us - and vice versa. When we melt into the energy that surrounds us, we fall into the energy that is at our core...

The surface area of our lungs: if we were to stretch it pout and measure it - it would fill one side of a tennis court! That we means more of the world comes into intimate contact with us
with each breath - more than we could possibly touch with our hands or wrap our arms around.

And when we breathe... the essence of who we are flows out into the world to mix and merge with everyone and everything. It is lovely to hold a philosophy about oneness, connection, etc.
it is quite another to have a direct biological, an unmistakable cellular experience of divine energy!

Namaste
Shakti
